Vincent Filigenzi studied Horticulture extensively at Farmingdale University on Long Island before receiving his degree in Landscape Architecture from the Environmental School of Science and Forestry at Syracuse, New York. Exposed to the great outdoors from an early age, he was destined to become a shaper of environments -- a fascination that began with a cross-country bicycle trip at the age of thirteen.
Learning most from those he has worked for, Vincent spent his first months out of school with H.M White Architects in Manhattan before heading out west to San Rafael, California, where he would find himself under the guiding influence of the exceptional Landscape Architect, Don Vita.
Vincent headed for Miami, sad to leave his mentor, but happy to follow his fiancé whose career in music led her to the Gateway of the Americas, Vincent began working for the world renowned Raymond Jungles -- a man who would also prove to be a great teacher and friend.
Now working solo, Vincent has several projects in the works, including the recently completed Terrace Gardens at club Karu in Miami. His unique style is a blend of raw natural experience with a good measure of classical influence. Strong architectural notes punctuate lush, tropical settings. All of the elements are present, with streams and waterfalls snaking through his designs of graded terrain and jagged, rocky outcroppings.
Vincent Filigenzi Design offers consultation, planning and production services to a wide range of clients. If you would like more information, or to discuss a specific project, please feel free to contact us.
